Book Beginnings Fridays #1

Book Beginnings is a Friday book meme hosted by Rose City Reader. All you have to do is share the first sentence of the book you are currently reading and your first thoughts about or anything else the you might come up with from just that first sentence. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author's name.

Title: Stormdancer
Author: Jay Kristoff
Publisher: St. Martin's Press

“As the iron war club scythed toward her head, Yukiko couldn’t help wishing she’d listened to her father."

My first thoughts:

When I first read that sentence, my first thought was this is going to be great. I thought the book was going to be adventure and action filled. I also thought there wouldn't be a boring moment. Also, I wanted to keep reading to find out how she got herself into that position and just what was her father had told her.

Note: This book version is an ebook ARC I got from the publisher through Netgalley. This means there might be changes when the final product is published.

  2. nnn=mmmHey, Lis!
This sounds like a terrific meme, so I think I might be joining in next Friday!
By the way, Steph @Five Alarm Book Reviews will no longer be doing the Shelf Candy Saturday meme, so she said I could continue doing it if I wanted to, which I do. I'm going to have a Linky set up for any other blogs that would like to participate. So, if you're interested, I'm putting up the post tomorrow. Hope you decide to join in! : )

    1. I was actually debating whether to send you a message or not to see if you knew anything about it. I checked Five Alarms earlier and it wasn't available. I am definitely going to keep doing it. I'll change the link so it goes to your blog. Thanks!

  3. My previous comment looks a bit weird because I was testing to see if words were appearing. The blog buttons on the left were blocking part of the comment box. Just letting you know!
